Students receiving Confirmation this year...listen to Cardinal Cupich's message to you.
https://youtu.be/Gn_axazehMQ

What a glorious morning!  This surely is the day that the Lord has made, let us truly be glad and rejoice in it!  The birds are chirping, the sun is shining so bright; we have much to be thankful for.  Yesterday we celebrated a day in thanksgiving for those who served us in the military.  We are so lucky to live in a country that protects us and keeps us safe.  Thank you to those servicemen and women who have given their lives for our freedom and to the families of those servicemen and women who lost their family members through this sacrifice!

We are entering our last days of school!  I never would have believed that I would be saying goodbye to my awesome students through ZOOM!  But we will meet again soon, when all of this is over,  stay hopeful!

Final work assignments are due, be sure to get those in.  The grading period ends on Friday.  Reports will go home next week.  I am so amazed at how each of you handled this eLearning situation.  It was not easy, but you have made it!  I am so proud of each of you.

Have a great end of May...looking forward to June!
Mrs. Mors

Today is Ascension Thursday..May 21, 2020     This day is 40 days after Easter and we celebrate Jesus rising to heaven to be back with his Father.  Jesus tells us that he will not leave us orphan, he will always be with us!  Such wonderful words of comfort especially during these unprecedented times of Covid 19.  I hope your families are staying safe and healthy, remembering to pray daily and helping out whenever you can.  Pay close attention to Dr. Sacarro's emails and robo calls in the next week.  Updates are always being given on school information.  Our 8th graders are almost graduated!  WOW! Seems like only yesterday I met these wonderful young people.  They are ready to make their presence known to our world.  They will do great things!!  Go out and be a positive change.

We've almost made it!   Week 9 of eLearning...
As we enter into the second half of the month of May let us thank God for all that he has given us; new challenges, health, our families and friends.  It's hard to believe that when we first started eLearning most of us had no idea what we were expected to do.  Now we have explored and worked through any bumps and came out successful.  Continue to work hard through the end of May.  We will come out of this stronger than when we entered.
Good luck to our 8th graders as their school year is beginning to wind down!

Happy May..the month of Our Lady!
One of this month's most popular Marian devotions is the May Crowning, in which members of a parish or community gather to honor Mary by crowning a statue of her or adorning an image of her with a garland of flowers, praying and singing to her.  In crowning Mary, we thank Jesus for giving us his Mother to be our own.  Let's imitate Mary and say "yes" to God's plan for our own lives and sing God's praises forever!

Monday, April 27th
Good morning and welcome to week 6 of e-Learning!  The students are doing a fine job of trying to balance out this new way of "life".  In today's 8th grade ZOOM Religion class, we read scripture from St. Paul.  We talked about St. Paul and what he feels we need to "put on" each day.  St. Paul says we need to show heartfelt compassion, kindness, gentleness, humility, patience and love.  But the most important thing we need to "put on" over everything is LOVE!

Over these past weeks, I have been witness to many people putting on LOVE:  love for their families, love for their neighbors, love for their friends, love for their teachers, love for those who are suffering. love for those who are nurses and doctors and grocery store workers and truck drivers and the list goes on.  Make sure that you "put on" LOVE everyday!  You will feel amazing....
Stay healthy and safe,
Mrs. Mors
6L 6V and 8th grade Religion grades are all updated in POWERSCHOOL.  Please contact me if you have any questions.
Sunday, April 19, 2020
Welcome to Week 5 of eLearning!   As you have heard, we won't be returning to the classroom this school year.  Yes, that is sad.  However, we will be connected through our online learning classrooms which the students have done a good job at maintaining.  Continue to remind your child that there are assignments posted daily.  These will be needed to be completed so that grades can be assigned. You have my email, please contact me if there are any questions.

As I look out my back window this morning, I am reminded that God has given me another day to do good in this world.  The sun is shining, birds are chirping, my family and friends are healthy and I am able to continue sharing his good news with you!   Let's be the reason someone smiles today...always be kind and helpful.

If your family is struggling in any way, don't forget to contact Dr. Saccaro or me.  We will do everything possible to help you and your family get through these extremely difficult times.  We can do anything when we work together!

Encourage your Middle School student to participate in our activity this week.  We want to encourage everyone in our school community that even though we aren't physically together, we are together in spirit and love!  Get in our movement.  Make a poster, paint a picture, do a chalk drawing on your sidewalk with an encouraging statement to others.  Be creative and let's lift each other up!  You are all AMAZING...
Keep praying,
Mrs. Mors

Good morning MBTA families!                                                                      April 8, 2020
Tomorrow, Holy Thursday begins the Triduum, the "three days" before Easter.
These are very important days for Christians.  Tomorrow we remember Jesus having his Last Supper with his apostles.  At this meal Jesus gives us two very special sacraments:  Holy Orders and the Eucharist.  Jesus tells his apostles to go forth and teach about the Good News.  Around the dinner table Jesus shares his body and blood with the apostles and says the words we hear at Mass, "take and eat for this is my body given up for you, take  and drink for this is my blood which has been shed for you and for all so that sins may be forgiven.
Do this in memory of me."
Powerful words, indeed.
Good Friday--what's so good about it? Well, if Jesus hadn't suffered for us, we wouldn't have been saved. That's why we walk with Jesus along the Stations of the Cross on Friday.  We hurt when Jesus hurt.
Holy Saturday, Jesus remains in the tomb.
Take some time over these next three days and think about how Jesus has walked with you everyday; how he's been with you in good times and bad, in sick times and healthy ones...thank him for giving up his life for you!
This has certainly been an unusual Lenten season.  I have truly used these days to think about the gifts I have received from God and how lucky I am to have all of you in my life.  On Easter, we will be blessed with the Risen Lord who will continue to be by our sides.  Keep him close to you!
Happy Wednesday!
Mrs. Mors
                                                                                   April 5, 2020
Today is the beginning of Holy Week in our Church.  It is Palm Sunday, the day Jesus returned to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover meal with his apostles. The people waved palm branches and said, "Hosanna" to our king! We know the story...we know how the story will end.  Spend special time with Jesus this week, walking his final days along side him.  Pray the Stations of the Cross with your family.  Read the Passion (in the bible) with your family.  Maybe do an activity or two that I posted last week.  Make this week memorable for your children.  In ZOOM classes, we will be spending time discussing each of the days of this important week.  I have posted a simple outline for you.  You can also find many, many activities online to do with your families or perhaps you have Holy Week traditions of your own.

This e-Learning week will look a little different for the 8th graders.  I will be posting a new ZOOM schedule for them later this evening in GOOGLE CLASSROOM.  They should follow the new schedule, tomorrow, Monday, April 6th.

Have a wonderful week--remember to spend each day in prayer!

April 2                                               LORD, HOW GREAT THOU ART!
This is the view from my kitchen table this morning as I am getting ready for my day of teaching.   What a glorious view!   THE SUN IS OUT, BIRDS ARE CHIRPING and THE AIR IS WARMER THAN IT HAS BEEN IN AWHILE.   It was a moment that I just had to soak in and ask God, why do I worry?  Look, you have given me many wonderful gifts.  This day, my health, my family...what more can I ask for?   I do have one more, if you could help me, Lord.  I ask that you comfort and keep my MBTA family and friends and all people of the world safe from this monster of a virus.  Help us to appreciate each minute  that we have and see your boundless love in every day.  Stay with us, Lord and don't let us feel alone.  Amen!

Have a great day and remember that your child, if in Middle School, has been given daily assignments in their GOOGLE CLASSROOM.  Please have them show you how to access those so that you can keep them on schedule.  It's a beautiful day-ride a bike, talk a walk, sit outside for awhile.  Enjoy this lovely day that the Lord has given to each of us!                  Mrs. Mors
                                                                             Wednesday, April 1st
A new month..many new challenges!  Don't forget about keeping Jesus at your side during these difficult times as we think about our families, friends and the nation.  We cannot resolve this virus but Jesus can comfort us during this unsettling time.   Holy Week begins on Sunday.  I have attached some activities below that you might find fun for your family.
All of my 6th and 8th grade students have work posted daily on GOOGLE CLASSROOM.  If you are unsure on how to connect to see your child's assignments, email me!  I will help you set it up.

MONDAY,  MARCH 30TH
Good morning MBTA families...I am so glad the rain has stopped.  Maybe a nice walk today?
I am attached a new link of an activity that you and your children can do.  Some of the choices they might be able to do by themselves, some might need assistance.   This might be a way for the entire family to practice!
Don't forget:  EMAIL ME IF YOU NEED ANYTHING!  I will be here, not going anywhere until this pandemic is over.

                                                              HAPPY FRIDAY    March 27th
Maybe you will be able to take a walk or sing a song or dance that crazy dance today!  Whatever your fun activity is invite the Lord to be with you.    Do a dance for God or talk to him on your walk in his beautiful creation.  Remember this season of Lent is a time to deepen our relationship with God.  God always shows up--we just don't know where or when.  Believe this...watch for it!

March 25th
I know that during these uncertain times in our country, I am relying on God's strength and healing powers to calm me.  I try to meditate each morning, find solace in listening to religious songs, and keep up with my weekly devotions as best as I can.

I thought these websites might help you in prayer:
This site is for televised/broadcast masses in different languages:
https://radiotv.archchicago.org/television/broadcast-masses

This site is for the daily Catholic readings:
http://usccb.org/calendar/index.cfm?action=month&thismonth=4&thisyear=2020&refval=266884450291&showLit=1

We can pray with any words that come to mind.  Sometimes, when we find that choosing our own words is difficult, we can use traditional prayers.  Maybe putting a few minutes aside each day with your family in prayer will help you to overcome some anxiety during these stressful days.

Please know that I pray each day for you and the children of MBTA.  I miss you very much!
Mrs. Mors

Hope everyone is doing okay on our first full day of our stay at home order was put into place.  Spend time in prayer, play games with the kids, bake a cake, take a walk...I know we can get through this difficult time!  Enjoy your Spring Break-staycation!
Mrs. Mors
Happy Friday, March 20th      Looks like we made it through our first week of eLearning!   Congratulations....
As you are probably aware, MBTA will continue eLearning after Spring Break until further notice.  Try and think of new and exciting activities to break up your long days inside.  Do you have a favorite card game from your childhood?  Try teaching that to your children...  How about some dances or songs from your childhood?  How fun could it be to teach your child a new dance?  One last thing...don't forget to pray this week!  Even though we have been given a total challenge to conquer in this virus, this is a perfect time to ask Jesus to walk with us through these tough times.   Have a great Spring Break...  Mrs. Mors

Good morning MBTA!    What are you planning on doing today?  One of my students told me she was starting a 1500 piece puzzle today...another was doing a dance party...well, I will be taking a much needed walk!  Remember to get some exercise into your day.  Do something fun...learn how to cook something new...read a good book....remember that learning doesn't always happen from a textbook!  Have a great day.  Don't forget to  to spend a bit of time with Our Lord in prayer.    Mrs. Mors        March 19, 2020

Students in my 8th and 6th grade classes are able to access their daily work through GOOGLE classroom.  My students have been doing a great job at keeping up with their assignments and checking in with me daily.  I REALLY MISS ALL OF THEM!

I know that we are in times that we watch and wait daily for updates.  If there is information that you need from me other than what the nation and Dr. Saccaro provide for you, I will post here on my school site for you.  I will also post it on GOOGLE classroom for the students.

Please take time to get outside for a bit for some fresh air...take some photos and email them to Dr. Saccaro of your children doing their work.  It is always fun to see the children.   I am available via email from 7am-2pm everyday and I will check my emails outside of these times, as well.  So, if you need anything, please contact me:  cmors@mostblessedtrinityacademy.org

As far as students making their Sacraments this spring...we have not been given any changes in dates.  As soon as I am notified, you will be contacted.  Please encourage your children to pray daily.  Virtual masses are available, as well.
Please join me in praying for the lawmakers who are making decisions for our country, the sick, those who are full of anxiety at this time, health care workers, and each of you who are navigating this new way of learning with your children.
May God bless you and your families!  Mrs Mors

I am Christine Mors, a Waukegan native, currently living in Winthrop Harbor.  I am a proud product of Our Lady of Humility Catholic School and Waukegan High School.  I had received my Associate of Arts Degree from the College of Lake County, my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State University and my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Dominican University.

I am thrilled to be working at Most Blessed Trinity Academy where I can be of service to the students, faculty/staff and parents.  Education is very important to me.  I have been involved in schools for over 40 years:  13 as a School Principal and 27 as a classroom teacher.  Both of these positions have been fulfilling and enable me to bring my talents into the educational facilities in which I work.

I have been a Religious Education teacher and am currently a Lector at my parish.   I am also the proud mother of two very successful young adults.  In my spare time, I spend hours in the gym, on the soccer field and at school activities cheering on my four grandchildren.
