Hi MBTA Families,
I know it's a bit boring being home even though you have lots of school work to do. I've put a couple youtube videos here so you can see a baby bird that was rescued when it was still in its egg. I also inserted another video about some cool experiments you can do at home so you can still get some hands on science learning. I'll find more things for you to do as time goes by.
Know that I think about you all the time and wish we could be together doing experiments in class.

April 6

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is doing well. Today we can go on some virtual field trips. I hope you go on one each day until I can find some more for you to go on. I'll be posting some pictures of chick development of the chicks my daughter got. I wish we could have had them in class. Hope the pictures are fun to see. I'll also post pictures of my turtle and the mealworm development we missed.
April 13
Hello everyone! Hope everyone continues to be in good health. This week I hope you explore the new items I am inputting on the web page. these things should help a bit with you homework packets and hope also to have a little fun.
April 20
Hello everyone! Hope everyone well this week. On Wednesday, April 22 is Earth Day! Earth day is not a birthday celebration. it is way to create awareness of the need to keep our earth clean and healthy so we, as humans, can survive. Earth Day was first celebrated in Monterey Bay because of an oil spill. People rallied to make changes in the way the Earth was treated. As a result countries around the world have made changes to make the earth a better place for all living things. Wednesday is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. Please watch the videos I have put here and think about what you and your family is doing everyday to keep the earth clean and healthy for all. I have also placed a video about viruses and how they work so maybe you can better understand how this coronavirus (covid19) is passed from person to person.

Welcome to a new week and if you are a Star Wars fan, May the Fourth be with you. I have added a couple of links to allow you to go on some virtual field trips around the world as we are still in a state shelter in place order from our Governor as well as a link to some recycled crafts for fun. I also added a new video about how you can reuse those toothpaste tubes or foods that come in tubes into new things. Quite interesting concept. I may just find some more things in the next couple of days. I hope you are getting your science packets done. Send me pictures of what you've done to my phone number. It's in the last packet as well as here under my picture. Stay healthy.

Hope everyone is having success with the sunflowers. they should be at least 4 inches or so by now. By six inches please plant them in a sunny location outside. Remember they will grow from 7 feet to 12 feet tall. that's twice as tall as me if you can remember how tall that is. You can compare to your parents as well. Look for some videos about sunflowers or heliotropes here on the website. heliotropes follow the sun. It would be good if you would check on which direction the sun is and which direction the flower is facing, when it gets a flower started, to see for yourself. It's especially interesting that it will start in the morning facing east where the sun will come up but was facing west in the morning where the sun went down.

Hope you have tried making the lava lamp. Did you notice how the water and oil do not mix so that is why you didn't get just a mixture of one thing when the tablet reacted with the water. I hope you tired with food color or at least used a light from underneath. No heat involved so it's safe but not too tasty to use in food after. if you ran out of the denture tabs You can use alka seltzer tabs which will do the same thing in your experiment.

You have been doing awesome during this weird school year. Please do go to the links I've put here and watch the videos. Especially any new ones.

You are awesome!! Both students and parents. Thank you.
