Financial Aid

To be considered for financial aid you are required to:

  • Complete an online application through FACTS

  • Submit all financial documentation requested through FACTS. Such as an IRS 1040, Illinois 1040, W-2 or 1099, a letter from the employer

  • Have your current year tuition in good standing

  • Register your child for the year you are applying for financial aid

Current families receiving financial aid must re-apply to receive financial aid each year, annual renewal is not automatic or guaranteed.  As long as a family continues to demonstrate need and is in good standing, MBTA will continue to attempt to meet that need.

All information is kept confidential. If you have any questions about financial aid or the process, please contact the school at 843-623-4110

Scholarships

We currently provide scholarships through the generosity of our donors, friends, alumni and the Big Shoulders Fund.

To be eligible for scholarships families must register with FACTS Tuition first regardless of financial aid status.

A number of our families also receive Tax Credit Scholarships (TCS) each year. TCS can provide students a scholarship that covers half or potentially full tuition depending on a family’s income level. Applications open each January and when application  information is available, it will be listed here.

Tax Credit Scholarships

The Illinois Tax Credit Scholarship Program, made possible by the Illinois Invest in Kids Act, provides donors a unique opportunity to contribute to scholarships that help lower-income families send their children to private schools — while reducing their own tax bill on dollars otherwise owed to the state.

The program enables individuals and corporations to reserve Illinois income tax credits based on contributions made to SGOs. The organizations then provide scholarships for eligible students to attend nonpublic schools, with priority given to low-income students. Taxpayers may apply 75 percent of the total contributed as a tax credit against their Illinois income tax bill.

Big Shoulders Fund and Empower Illinois have been approved to participate as a Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) through this program.

Tax Credit Scholarship applications open in early January and be prepared to apply at both portals as soon as they open to give you the best chance at receiving a TCS If you are interested in a tax credit supporting MBTA, click the links below for more information.
